Book your next stay
1.Check-In
Check-in time is from 15.00. We use self check-in so you can enter the apartment 24/7. Official address is Messitytönkatu 8 C 42, 00180, Helsinki. The entrance however, is located on the Messitytönkuja side, if you put Messitytönkuja 6 to Google Maps you will find the entrance door. Entrance door is marked with red arrow on the picture above. Door has a marking “C”. You will receive a code for the door to your Airbnb/Booking.com inbox after making a booking.
In case the code does not work (e.g. technical error), there is a key in the keybox under the tree (blue tape around it) marked with blue arrow on the picture above. Open the box with code you also received to you Airbnb/Booking.com inbox. Please return key to the box, you will find another key to use during your stay in the apartment. Note! Normally you will not need to use the keybox, it is only a backup.
2. Entering the apartment
Apartment is located on the 4th floor and in the door says “TOKKO”. You will receive your personal pin code for the door to your Airbnb/Booking.com inbox after making a booking. Please put your pin -code on address https://pindora.fi/cm62790/messiapartment
You will also find a QR code on the door that leads to same address.
After you have entered the pin -code, please knock the door three times and the lock will open.
Inside the apartment, on the livingroom table you will find a key that you can use during your stay. Pin -code entering also works during you whole stay.
3. Kitchen
In the kitchen you will find a good selection of appliances and cutlery that you can freely use. Please remember to turn off the devices after use. Appliances in the kitchen:
-Oven
-Stove
-Fridge-freezer
-Toaster
-Kettle
-Coffee maker
-Microwave
-Dishwasher (Remember to open and close the valve that you will find on the faucet)
You can find dish brush and washing up liquid as well as dishwater tablets in the kitchen cabinets. Trash is under the sink and trashbags too. Ice-cube tray can be found in the freezer. Note that tap water is drinkable in Finland.
4. Bathroom
Bathroom is equipped with sauna and washing machine. Sauna is turned on and off on the heater unit in the sauna. Note! Remember the heater unit is turned off after use and open the window in the sauna.
When using washing machine, please turn on the valve above the washing machine. You can find more toilet paper, soap, detergent and cleaning equipment on the cabinet that exists in the hallway.
Feel free to use soap, shower gel, shampoo etc.
5. Bedroom
Apartment has one bedroom with a 160cm wide double king-size bed. Bedroom has plenty of cabinet space for clothes. You will also find towels, sheets, pillows and blankets on the cabinets as well as iron and ironing board.
If you need to adjust temperature in the room, please do it on the radiator switches. Also windows do open if you need to cool the room.
Robot vacuum should not turn on but if it does you can turn it off on the device. Also if you need to use it please do. You will also find a traditional vacuum cleaner in the hallway cabinet.
6. Living room
You will find a sofa in living room that turns to sleeping position and fits two people (124cm wide). Please find pillows, blankets and sheets in the bedroom cabinets.
Living room has a TV with netflix that you can use freely. Please use the remote controller that you will find next to TV and search for “Fire tv stick”. Open that and you will find Netflix. You can use profile “Messitytönkatu” without pin code.
TV is connected to internet, so in case you want to use your own streaming services you are free to do so.
7. WiFi
Wifi name is Messitytonkatu or Messitytonkatu 5G (5G is faster) and password is Messi1234.
WiFi device is found on the back of the TV. It has a 150Mb connection.
8. Balcony
Balcony has two chairs, a table and a hammock swing. Please note that hammock swing weight limit is 100kg. Balcony glasses open by pulling the string and knob simultaneously.
Always remember to close the balcony door when you leave the balcony.
9. Trash
You will find trashcans in the kitchen under the sink and in the bathroom. Please take the trash out when they are full. You can take the trash to 1st floor, exactly under where the balcony is there is a garbage room you can enter with the key or the same code you got for the building door.
Please find more trashbags in the cabinet on the hallway or in the kitchen cabinets. Note that bottles should always be gathered in a separate bag and returned to grocery store or you can also leave them in the apartment, but do not put them on trash. Also note that food waste has to be in a separate trash (eco bags exist in the apartment) and other trash separately in a traditional plastic bag.
10. Car parking
You can park your car on Messitytönkatu. Parking is not free unless on sundays. Parking on weekdays costs 2€/hour between 9-21 and saturdays between 9-18. Other times are free. It is recommended to download “Parkman” or “Easy Park” app on Apple/Google store and pay you parking with that. You can also pay parking to the machines you will find on the street. Note! Parking into spots that says e-parking is not allowed, those are reserved spots.
Car charging is possible on the crossroad of Messipojankuja and Messitytönkatu. For car charging you need a “Oma Helen” app from Apple/Google store.
11. Public transportation
Closest tram stations are “Välimerenkatu” and “Crusellinsilta” stops. Tram number 9 goes from Välimerenkatu and tran number 8 from Crusellinsilta. Tram number 9 goes to city centre and 8 all the way to Arabianranta. Both trams also go to Western harbour. Please see more detailed routes here: https://ratikkakartta2030.hsl.fi/#
Ruoholahti metro station is 750m away.

12. Grocery and shops
Nearest grocery is Alepa 500m away on Välimerenkatu, see route on Google Maps. If you need a bigger store please visit Kauppakeskus Ruoholahti 750m away. There you will find Citymarket that is a big grocery store. Also some other shops and restaurants, see https://kauppakeskusruoholahti.fi/. Route on Google Maps.
I would recommend Google Maps for navigating the routes either by foot, car or public transportation.
14. House rules
-Quiet time 22.00 - 06.00
-No smoking in apartment or on the balcony, only on the street
-No parties or unusual loud living
-No unregistrated quests
-No pets
15. Sofa bed
First open the zippers behind the sofa and pull the legs out. Then turn the sofa back and you will hear a click. Now fold the sofa to sleeping position.
13. For kids
There is a approximately 60x120cm sized baby cot always in the apartment as well as high chair for children, a potty and some toys. Also cutlery for the minors is found in the kitchen.
You will find all the kids furniture/toys and sheets in the cabinet closest to the bedroom door.
17. Key box
In case you need to use the key in the box you will find the key box in front of the entrance door marked with blue tape. You have received the code to your Booking.com/Airbnb inbox when you made the reservation.
18. Check-out
Check-out time is at 12.00.
Take the trash out and put bottles in separate plastic bag and take to grocery store or if not possible, leave into the apartment. Trashroom is located on the 1st floor, right under the balconies. You can enter the room with same code as to the building.
Put all towels and sheets on a pile on the floor unless wet. If wet then hang on the bathroom holders.
Turn off the lights and make sure all electronical devices (also sauna) are turned off. Close all windows.
If you used the key in the box outside the building please put it back. Another key you found on the table, please leave it to livingroom table.
16. Sauna
Turn sauna ON and OFF on the right side switch. Move numbers on the white area and keep black arrow within the white area. Sauna stays on max 4 hours. Sauna warms up approximately in 15-30 minutes. To enjoy the steam, throw water to heater after the sauna is warm. After you have finished please open the sauna window and keep the door open.
Tablecloths can be found in the cabinet under the sink.
Note! Never put anything on the heater and do not dry clothes in sauna.

There is a fire blanket and a foam fire extinguisher in the big kitchen cabinet on the right side of the fridge.
20. Luggage
Unfortunately, there is no possibility to leave luggage on site, but you can find lockers both in West Harbour (1,3km) and Central Railway Station (2,2km).
